Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Conference -- Highlights from Fluke!

This year’s EPRI Conference combined multiple Conditioned Based Maintenance activities – Predictive Maintenance User Group, Infrared Thermography User Group, Vibration Technology Forum, and Lube and Bearing Workshop. In attendance at the 4-day conference were 112 predictive maintenance and reliability engineering professionals from various electric power utilities, petrochemical, and large-scale industrial plants. As the attendees strolled through the tradeshow, mingled with exhibitors and got to know the products, we noticed that there was a certain buzz around the Fluke TI booth.

The conference’s table-top displays featured 13 exhibitors – primarily vibration analysis system companies. Fluke happened to be the only thermal imaging exhibit at the conference, which gave us the opportunity to really show-off the Ti32 (now shipping—get yours today!), Ti25, Ti55FT and IR Inspection window. Most power plant CBM end-users typically work with high-end, high-cost thermal imagers, but after seeing the new Ti32 (which was very well-received) several customers praised the image quality and usability of the camera. One plant manager commented on the rugged nature and durability of the Ti32, saying, “I wouldn’t hesitate giving this camera to our plant maintenance guys to use,” something he said he would never even consider with his $50k imager!

All-in-all, the tradeshow was a great success. The response to our line of thermal imagers was overwhelmingly positive and we’re proud that the quality and durability of our products really shined through, turning some heads and changes some minds at this year’s EPRI conference.
